MAKING HOT PROCESS
BIODIESEL GLYCERIN SOAP
Gather tools & supplies - ( MAKES TWO LOAVES )
Safety: Chemical resistant gloves, full coverage eye protection, chemical respirator
Utensils: Stainless steel pot twice size of ingredients being used, SS long spoon, hand blender/mixer, infrared thermometer or candy thermometer, large plastic bowl or glass measuring cup to mix lye, kitchen scale with ounces, glass jars for pre measured ingredients, soap molds, soap cutter.
Ingredients: 52 oz BD GLYCERIN, 8 oz COCONUT OIL, 19 oz STEARIC ACID, 16 oz DISTILLED WATER, 6.8 oz SODIUM HYDROXIDE (LYE), 2.4 oz SODIUM LACTATE, 1.5 oz ESSENTIAL OIL, 3.9 oz COCONUT OIL (SUPER FATTING)
Directions: Pre measure all ingredients to make the process quick & most of all safe! Melt 3.9 oz of super fatting coconut oil and place to the side for later use. Melt BD Glycerin, Coconut Oil & Stearic Acid in pot on high. Once ingredients are melted turn down to low and maintain temperature between 170 & 180. Use thermometer to verify temp; IMPORTANT! In large glass measuring cup or plastic bowl add water, then sodium lactate, then mix in sodium hydroxide slowly. ( NEVER PUT SODIUM HYDROXIDE FIRST THEN WATER, YOU COULD CREATE A DANGEROUS EXPLOSION THAT CAN BE BLINDING AND BURN YOUR SKIN) Mix these three ingredients until mixture is clear. Slowly add mixture to glycerin & coconut oil mixture while stirring continuosly with the hand blender on high. If the mixture is rising to the top of the pan STIR FASTER. If the mixture overflows out of pan remove the pan from heat and continue stirring. The mixture will go thru a foamy stage, a stage that looks like mashed potatoes, a stage that looks like pudding & then finally a stage that is shiny on top resembling vaseline. Test PH if desired. Now add super fatting coconut oil & essential oil; stir in vigorously. Immediately pour complete mixture into molds, scape all contents from side of the pan. Let cool 24 hours and then slice your new moisturizing Biodiesel Glycerin Soap!
